Our Process
Webfoot takes web design seriously. It is important to
understand the life cycle of a web design project and how it can
quickly and efficiently get your website online! Below is an
outline of the Webfoot web design process and explanation of each
step.
Web Design
- Design Meeting - This is a meeting held
between yourself and a member of the Webfoot design team. In this
meeting, you will define the website page structure. This is a
categorized listing of all pages/sections of your website. After
defining the page structure, you will provide a brief explanation
of the expectations of each page. In other words, what is the
purpose of the page, and what do you wish to accomplish on that
page. From that point you will discuss the look and feel of the
website; What kind of design elements (theme of the website),
images, and dynamic content you would like. By the meetings end,
Webfoot will have a clear understanding of what you would like the
site to look like and how it should function.
- Create Sample - Webfoot will create a sample
of a home page and a sub page (content page) based on the
discussion in the initial design meeting.
- Review Sample - You will review the provided
samples and give feedback for (if any) changes. This can be done in
a meeting environment or through a series of emails and phone
calls.
- Content - From this point you will need to
provide the content for every page that was defined in the page
structure. For your convenience, Webfoot will provide an account
with a simple web planning tool to help keep your content organized
for each page. Once the content is approved you will not be able to
change the content as part of the project.
- Creation & Review - Webfoot will design
the web ready formatted website (using the approved design samples
and content), placing it in a temporary location internet location
for your review. During your review you may make changes to
the layout of the content, or images. This can be done in a meeting
environment or through a series of emails and phone calls. Once the
site has been approved, Webfoot will move the temporary site to its
permanent home on your domain name and make the site go live.
Graphic Design
- Design Meeting - This is a meeting between
yourself and a member of the Webfoot design team. In this meeting
you will discuss the scope of the project and any essential
requirements. After getting a good idea of the graphic design
project details, Webfoot will work with you to develop a design
concept.
- Create Sample - Webfoot will create a small
series of samples based on the concept discussed in the design
meeting.
- Review Sample - Once the samples are
completed, you will be able to meet and review them with a member
of the Webfoot design team. Depending on the project scope, Webfoot
will tweak the samples per your direction. Once approved the
finished design files will be either sent to you via email, copied
to a personal thumbdrive, or burned on a cd-rom.
