Our Process
Webfoot follows a programming process that has been found to
increase the efficiency of a programming job up to 50% more than
most of our competition. Below you will find our programming
process accompanied by a brief explanation.
Concept Discussion - This is a
meeting held between you and a member of the Webfoot programming
team to discuss your initial programming needs. In this meeting
Webfoot will determine the purpose of the program, the technology
requirements, 3rd party products and services, the flow of the
program (screens / sections map outline), and any various
requirements/specifications.
- Wireframe Design and
review - Webfoot will design a series of static
non-programmed images to be presented in either website or
PowerPoint format for review. The purpose of the wireframe process
is to illustrate the different screen's information and how it
flows from one screen to the next. Webfoot has found this part of
the process essential to pointing out flaws in the basic logic, or
allows you to view information that might be missing/not thought of
in the initial discussions. It is important to note that not every
programming scope requires the use of a wireframe design.
- GUI design
meeting - GUI stands for graphical user interface. This is
the "front end" of your program. A GUI is like a set of controls
and the look and feel of a program. An example of this a media
player that streams audio/video right to the program. GUI elements
in this example might include a stop, pause, play, fast forward,
and rewind set of buttons as well as a stage area to display the
media. In this meeting you will discuss the look and feel of your
program with a member of the Webfoot design team.
- GUI design and
review - At this point all of the logic and data of the
program has been determined and the initial GUI has been designed.
In this meeting you will review the GUI to make any changes or
approve the look and feel of the program.
- Programming and bug
test - Once the GUI has been approved, Webfoot programmers
will begin the coding process. This means that all of the planning
that has taken place up to this point will be implemented in a
typical programming environment. Once the programming has been
completed, Webfoot will begin testing for any breaks in the program
that might cause errors or problems, this is also called "bug
testing."
- Final Review - Upon completion of the
programming and bug testing, a presentation of the final product
will take place. This is a meeting between you and the Webfoot
programming team member. You will go through and review the program
piece by piece to ensure all logic, data, and GUI elements are
exactly as previously discussed.
- Product release and install - Once the program
is completed. Webfoot will install (if applicable) your program.
Depending on your location this can either be done remotely or
on-site. Webfoot will ensuring your program is up and running
properly.
- Support and
training - As an additional service (if purchased) Webfoot
will provide a specified amount of program support or Training. If
the programming project is complicated and will be taught to other
employees or team members, this is a must have! To find out more
about our support packages, please click here.
*For all stand alone applications, there is an initial $100
consultation fee prior to the initial discussion. If you choose to
use Webfoot for your programming project, the consultation fee will
be applied to the total of project.
** For web development projects (depending on the complication
of the project), no consultation fee will be initially charged. It
might be necessary to hold a small meeting prior to the development
meeting (which can be done by phone) to determine the complication
of the project.
